Mission Statement

The mission of the Island Falls Ambulance is to enhance the quality of living in our community by preventing or minimizing the loss of life or property resulting from emergencies, natural or human caused, that may occur within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Towns we serve.

Training to Uphold the Mission

IFAS is dedicated to serving its residents and visitors by providing efficient and effective emergency medical care and transportation. IFAS continually strives to learn, improve and grow in enhancing the quality of the care we deliver by attending trainings in-house and across the State of Maine. Many members of Island Falls Ambulance services hold advanced licenses that include PALS, ACLS, PHTLS, CPR, and PIFT.

Access to Help in Emergencies

Island Falls Ambulance Service operates within an Enhanced 911 System. Placing a call for help may be done on any type of phone, by dialing 911. A trained dispatcher will answer the call and immediately send out an ambulance, fire department and if indicated law enforcement officers.

Non-Emergency Services

IFAS offers many non-emergency services related to Emergency Medical Services. Inter-facility transfers compose the largest portion of non-emergency services, but Island Falls Ambulance Service also participates in promotional activities.

IFAS promotes itself by educating the public on how to access its services, when the services are needed, and how to provide first aid to themselves and others. Each year Island Falls Ambulance Service provides training to the Island Falls Girl Scouts and presents to area day care children. Children comprise the largest target audience, but IFAS also involve adults by offering free blood pressure clinics and CPR courses to local coaches and community leaders.
